The Supercar Challenge powered by Hankook starts its 2020 season
- Starting with the opening race in Netherlands on August 21, five rounds will be held for three months until November 1
- Hankook will serve as the exclusive supplier of racing tires to all race cars, serving as title sponsor throughout the entire round
Seoul, Korea, August 20, 2020 – One of the most popular European motorsports competitions, the "Supercar Challenge", will begin its 2020 season with the opening race held in Netherlands on August 21 with global leading tire maker Hankook Tire as the exclusive tire supplier.
The Supercar Challenge is a race where world-class supercars from Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi participate to compete in an extreme race that requires top-notch tire grip and durability as well as vehicle performance.
The 2020 season will start with the opening match at the Zandvoort circuit in Netherlands from August 21 to 23, and will be held in a total of five rounds until November 1 in different circuits including Netherland's Assen TT circuit.
Hankook Tire has been the main sponsor of the Supercar Challenge for four consecutive years since 2017. All vehicles participating in the competition will be equipped with 'Ventus F200', a dry road racing slicks with excellent grip, handling, and durability, or 'Ventus Z206' and 'Ventus Z207', wet road racing tires with high stability.
In addition, the official name "Supercar Challenge Powered by Hankook" will be used throughout the 2020 season. Hankook Tire seeks to be able to deliver its extraordinary passion for the development of global motorsports and its innovative spirit to the world through the official title, which will be exposed in every game.
Supplying racing tires to over 60 global motorsports competitions or teams around the world, Hankook is leading the development of the global motorsports culture. Recently, it was selected as the exclusive supplier to the “ABB FIA Formula E World Championship” from the 2022/23 season when the Gen3 racing cars will be introduced to the world’s most prestigious electric vehicle racing competition.
